How Many People Live in Food-insecure Households?

In 2022:

  • 44.2 million people lived in food-insecure households.
  • 11.7 million adults lived in households with very low food security.
  • 7.3 million children lived in food-insecure households in which children, along with adults, were food insecure.

Hunger can and does exist in the midst of plenty. Nationally, more than 49 million Americans have trouble regularly putting nutritious food on the table. The mission of the Hope Covenant House Food Bank is to provide food to people in need, advocate for the hungry and educate the public about hunger related issues. Our Customer Service and Satisfaction strategy plans are to pay close attention to the Number served, develop, and maintain, donor engagement. Food assistance will be provided to anyone who needs it. Our objective is to partner with other organizations who understands the need to address the hunger problem in America and in a collective effort, help to ensure access to food for families without discrimination against any person because of race, color, citizenship, religion, reprisal, sex, national origin, ancestry, age, marital status, disability, sexual orientation including gender identity or expression, unfavorable discharge from the military or status as a protected veteran.
